After numerous attempts to fix the issue, including, removing all the email accounts and trying to use the Support and Recovery Assistant for Office 365, eventually I stumbled across a solution that worked for me (as always your mileage may vary!). Recently Outlook on my Windows machines stopped working correctly, it would constantly prompt for a password and wouldn’t accept my app passwords or my actual password.
